True Believer

Y'all got on this boat for different reasons, but y'all come to the same place. So now I'm asking more of you than I have before. Maybe all. Sure as I know anything, I know this - they will try again. Maybe on another world, maybe on this very ground swept clean. A year from now, ten? They'll swing back to the belief that they can make people... better. And I do not hold to that.

In the 2005 movie, Serenity, Joss Whedon wrote words so prophetic and true that most people refused to see them for what they were.  It is my devout belief that even Mr. Whedon himself does not truly understand them. He avows to be a liberal, and yet everything he writes smacks of a Libertarian mindset.  He wrote the words above about a Solar System government that tries to control their citizenry and a few of the rebels, after a lost war, who just try to get by and live their lives away from governmental control.  It always tickles me in my political bones how Joss Whedon seems to think that Conservatives are the Nazis.  I respect Mr. Whedon's body of work but I do wish he would read more about Statism and realize that word he keeps using doesn't mean what he thinks it means.

Our current set of Congress Critters believe that they can legislate us into a behavior proscribed by them so that we are easily governable.  They are even proponents of drugging us into submission if necessary.  For those who refuse to be drugged into compliance, they believe, with the fervor of a zealot that they can make us believe as they do.

The reason?  Because they honestly believe that they are, as Sarah in Coupling put it, "The Goodies".  If you don't agree with them, then perhaps they might be wrong and since that is not an outcome acceptable, you must be made to agree with them, think as they do.  If you cannot be made to do so, you will disappear. Like a really great magic show in Vegas, only this time it's ALL smoke and mirrors and you're just gone.  Why do you think the Bolsheviks created their gulags and "re-education" camps? A rose by any other name smells just like death and silence.

The zealot, the true believer honestly believe that can be made to see it their way and if you don't then you must be destroyed.  Nothing in their thinking allows them to doubt.  It's like a religious fervor.  Look at the Global Warming crowd.  Despite all of their evidence being proved false and doctored they continue, CONTINUE, to repeat their mantra of anthropogenic global warming and treat anyone who naysays them as heretics, to be burned at the stake.  Check out Mann v. Steyn & National Review if you doubt me.  Michael Mann has been disproved, outed as a purveyor of snake oil and still, STILL he continues with his lawsuit against people who called him on his bullshit.  Like a small child found out in a lie, instead of just admitting it, he throws a tantrum in the hopes that we will all try to appease him just to shut him the hell up.  I don't think Mann understands the free thinking man's dedication to non-appeasement.  We are as fervent in that arena as they are in their belief ni unicorns and magical socialist faeries that will make us all see it their way.

In the above mentioned movie one of the characters points out why the Brown Coats might have rebelled against their "betters":

People don't like to be meddled with. We tell them what to do, what to think, don't run, don't walk. We're in their homes and in their heads and we haven't the right. We're meddlesome.

 No one has the right to tell me what to say or think.  No one has the right to tell me that I have no right to protect myself, especially when they know that I want to protect myself against them.

The thing is, Liberals honestly believe that they are "helping" people by enabling the bad behaviors that keep them in poverty.  They truly believe that with just a little more money thrown at them, the eternal wastrel will suddenly see the light and become frugal and productive.  So they hand out freebies and welfare, free food and housing and get frustrated when it doesn't make the poor rich, when it, indeed, makes their new slaves miserable.  They don't realize that they are actually hurting the people they are trying to help.  I pointed out in a post on Facebook the other day that it's like keeping someone you love alive on machines, despite the fact they may be in horrible pain, because you can't let them go.  You don't see it as a mercy and are in fact, extending their misery.  But the Liberals get mad when others point this out and they're called heartless and most of the time, bigots because they refuse to see the "mercy" of welfare and warehousing the ballot cattle.

This is the difference between Liberals and everyone else.  Liberals honest to God believe they can make you think in ways that defy reality.  Everyone else just wants to be left alone to think what they will.  They are steadfast in their belief that they are right and everyone else is wrong.  It's why they try to re-write history, lie and cover up anything that does not further their narrative.  They will destroy anything and anyone who does not fit into that narrative, despite the fact that they are even destroying parts of themselves.

I think we are almost at the tipping point where they are about to consume themselves.  This is my message, let them.  Just. Let. Them.
