N'Oubliez Jamais

The title to this post today means "Never Forget" in French, and was my first thought when I woke up this morning. There will never again be a September 11 where we don't stop for a moment and remember the day that everything changed for this country. No one, who is not American, can possibly understand the horror we all experienced as we watched the most cowardly, heinous attack on our way of life was perpetrated by a handful of so-called Muslims. Most of us knew it for what it was as soon as the second Tower was hit.

I've written before of my memories of that day and will not reiterate them on this tenth anniversary. I will write on the sins of forgetting and forgiving. And, yes, they are sins, because they speak to the cowardice at the very heart of those who wish to condemn and destroy our way of life.

When you hear someone speaking of forgiving the muslims, stop them right there. Until every single Imam in their religion comes out against all acts of violence in the name of their God, we WILL NOT forgive them for teaching and encouraging acts of cowardly terrorism. We will NEVER FORGET that not one, not a single Imam has YET come out in ten long years to condemn the acts of cowardice and childish petulance by Al Quaeda and their ilk.

I will not forgive and I will not forget. I will do my best to make sure it never happens again. I come from Texas, and if you think "Remember the Alamo" is just a cute phrase, think again. People wonder at the rumored tension between Texans and Mexicans. They remember and so do we. We are taught the history of our Nation/State through-out our school years and even in to college where our Constitution is taught to us. Our State Constitution is just our National Constitution amended to show our entrance into the United States. We NEVER FORGET that we were our own nation well before we joined the US.

To this day we have not forgotten our fight for independence or the men lost in that fight. Why do you think that Davy Crockett, Jim Bowie and Travis are still such huge legends, and not just in this state.

There is a certain segment of our own society that wants us to forgive the terrorists and try to understand them better, because they think, they don't know, they just THINK, that maybe they won't hate us if we do. Listen up, Cookie, they are going to kill you in spite of any conciliatory gestures you make because that is ALL they know how to do. They are taught hate from the womb and that is all they know. Hate is not a rational emotion. You cannot deal with people who are irrational. Don't believe me? OK, you try dealing rationally with the screaming 3 year old wanting candy next time you stand in line to get groceries. Let me know how that works out for you.

They will never like us, never try to understand us, so why bother? Exterminate them. That is the ONLY solution. Maybe, after enough have died, someone, somewhere in the Islamic world will be brave enough to stand up and decry terrorism for what it is, a childish lashing out then running behind the skirts of their mother. Terrorists are nothing more than little boys bullying neighborhood kids then running home, crying when the heat is a little too hot. So here's an idea, and yes, I am saying this out loud, and please remember, this is a metaphor. Kill Momma. When your quarry runs to ground, give them no ground to run to. Then, as the Marines say, nuke 'em 'til they glow and shoot 'em in the dark.

For I will never forget. And I will never forgive. That is the business of God, not man.
