I've been saying, for years, that I hate when my doctor unnecessarily points out that I'm getting older. My husband has laughed his ass off until recently, when he's begun to feel the pain of aging. Now our family doctor has begun using the same platitudes on him Freakin' patriarchy. I've been hearing it for years.
Our youngest son found a townhouse not far from our own house when he married and they got a place of their own. Recently, our daughter moved over to the bedroom community next to ours, leaving the singles/student side of town. Our eldest and his baby momma are now looking for a place in our small town as they look at expanding their family.
I'm delighted. I miss my eldest daughter who live four hours away by car, but there is no way she could make the money she makes in a big city here in our small town. Having them close by, so we can help, but not living with us, is nice in theory. We'll see how it works out in practice.
I'm writing on my blog because I tried doing some editing, but my dryer started making a weird noise, high squeaking sound, yesterday. The husband "fixed" it so now it makes an even louder vibrating sound that is maddening. Even more maddening than the bathroom fan which sets my nerves on edge. I have my playlist on blast and yet, I can still hear that freakin' humming. I enjoy my quiet. So this is torture to me. Right now I'm ready to break and blurt out state secrets, so, if you're listening NSA, send a Whirlpool repairman, stat.
I realized that there are many things that used to set me off, that now I really don't care about and I realized it's not a like a switch was thrown and I was suddenly apathetic. No, it was much more like a slowly turning of a dimming switch. I just gave up caring about things that never were going to get fixed. Like Scottish Independence. I gave money for years to the SNP and they can't do shit. I figured out they like being oppressed. They like the victimhood it proffers upon them. They wallow in it the same way Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton wallow in race baiting in America. They want to be seen as the victims and there is nothing for them in saving themselves. Pass.
I used to be very up in arms about abortion. To me, personally, you are murdering a human being who has a ton of potential we'll never know, all because of the ease of expediency of not paying for your bad planning or complete abdication of reproductive responsibility. It's is a pillar of Objectivism that we do not agree on, because they believe only unhealthy embryos or fetuses would be aborted. Surely, it's not a birth control device! Yeah, it's is a form of birth control for mouth breathing ghetto dwellers who are taught, if they are lucky enough to be born at all, that it is their God given right, a God they are taught not to believe in, to kill their children.
Yeah, it used to be me all butt chapped until I realized that all of the babies of the idiots who say it's their right to kill their own child proudly, while weeping buckets over a five time murderer being put to death for those murders. Yes, we're the inhuman people.
There is one thing that can still get me lit up and that is the subject of Boomers. I despise these people with the heat of a thousand suns. In case you're confused, despise means hate, without the negative connotation. I see Boomers as the embodiment of all that is wrong with the entire Progressive ideal. They're mostly grasshoppers who are all too happy to have the ants providing for them during their now permanent winter, giving not thought to how those ants will get through the winter themselves. They have no problem stealing your stores, as long as they can easily trip along doing what feels good, right?
Both of my parents are Boomers. Perhaps we see the reason for my hatred of that generation. Those two human being are the epitome of everything wrong my grandparents "Great Generation" did with their kids in trying to keep them in some idyllic cocoon. Freakin' hippies. There should be open season with no bag limit on them. You want to save Social Security, that's your path, right there.
I mean, I could get all upset over things like Nickleback still being around (I love them), or Russia (But, why?) but I find it easier to just take a Meh outlook because everyone else seems to be doing so. That has to be the path, right? The middle ground?
However, because I respect myself and what I believe, I don't think I will. I am going to be busy watching DC for the next year and a half, it seems. Our political process fascinates me. So much concentrated stupidity and cowardice makes for an entertaining term for any of them. Will Nancy Legosi get unseated? Will Occasional-Cortex get anything, ever? I want to know the answers to these burning questions.
However, right now I'm working to get a Constitutional Amendment going for term limits on the House and Senate as well as having the 17th Amendment repealed and the penalty of death to anyone who ever suggests the electoral college is ever done away with. If you can't figure out why a popular election is disastrous, please see Brexit as reference.
